The bent-wood craft called "Wappa" technique that is often seen for bento box is transformed into sake server here. The bent-wood from Odate, Akita prefecture is the only craft work that is listed as the National Treasures. The raw material used for this Wappa is Japanese Cedar with the most magnificent growth ring. This soft and gentle form born out of her delicate hands characterises her work and comfortably fits in your hand. In addition to its visual appeal, this "Katakuchi" vessel is very well-considered practical use as it effectively prevents dripping.
