Square mini plate "wildflower"

This square plate is used a technique called "Kanshitsu" which was originally used to produce Buddhist images brought from China in the 7th century in Japan. This method is quite a laborious. First, layers of Japanese "washi" paper soaked in the special glue paste called "Nori-urushi" are applied over the mold, each layer being left to dry before the next layer is added. This procedure is repeated 5-6 times, the mold is then removed. After applying a few time layers of lacquer and scatter tin powder all over, then this fine spidery design is added by "Harigaki" technique. After another layer of lacquer is applied, by polishing the surface, this beautiful luster with antique finish can be shown.

Available in 2 different designs.
